    RANGE RULES

ALL RANGES
  • All published range rules must be strictly adhered to.
  • Safety must be the number one concern at all times.
  • NRA Rules of Safety are the most important.  1) Always keep your gun
pointed in a safe direction, 2)  Always keep your gun unloaded until you are
ready to shoot, and 3)  Always keep your finger off the trigger until you are
    ready to shoot.
  • At least one shooter must act as Range Officer when multiple shooters are using
    the range.
  • Range Officer should state range commands clearly and concisely as follows:
“THE RANGE IS OPEN”.......shooters may load and fire
“THE RANGE IS CLOSED"..all guns are unloaded and on the tables or in gun racks
“CEASEFIRE"......................all shooters must stop shooting immediately and wait
for further instructions from Range Officer
  • While the range is closed, no handling of guns will be permitted FOR ANY REASON.
  • Shooters under the age of 21 must be directly supervised by a member age 21 or
    over at all times.
  • No full-automatic weapons allowed.
  • No smoking while handling black powder.
  • No glass, cans, bowling pins or exploding targets of any kind will be permitted on
    any range.
  • All targets which are hung on the backstops must be inside the designated areas.
Do not place targets on or in front of the backstop supports.
  • Prior to leaving any range, all targets must be removed, brass picked up, and all
guns must be unloaded and actions open.

  • It is every member's responsibility to repair/replace backboards when needed -
supplies are in the Quonset hut.

yard.  If pistol shooters are to fire at closer range (in front of the common firing
line), the common firing line must be closed (all other guns must be unloaded,
